Deep, real learning

This year we have been studying Botany. What a reminder it has been , of how absolutely magnificent God is. His creation in all its glory.

We have used a combination of Apologia and Caps to dig  into this section on the plant- structure, pollination , fertilization and seed dispersal

The application and deep learning found its fulfillment in our morning visit to Kirstenbosch. It was after a week of much need rainfall and the gardens where fresh and colorful.

Jet took photographs of flowers and seed pods and birds and butterflies pollinating .

What a fantastic learning experience for us both. To see the book learning in action.

Jet had a ball. Now he will choose examples and put together a mini project describing what we found out in the world. Very cool indeed!
